The Department of Education says this year’s national examinations are progressing successfully across Papua New Guinea, with Grade 10 tests completed last week and Grade 12 completing today.
Education Secretary Dr Uki Kombra confirmed Grade 10 examinations concluded “without any major issues” and praised teachers, students, parents, and provincial officers for their cooperation.
“Our Grade 10 examinations were done successfully last week. Minor incidents were managed locally, and we thank everyone for their effort,” Dr Kombra said.
Grade 12 students began their examinations on Monday and are finishing today, while Grade 8 examinations will start next week. The Measurement Services Division has been working around the clock to ensure all papers reach provinces on time.
Dr Kombra also acknowledged the Government Printing Office for supporting the timely production of exam materials and said provincial marking of Grade 10 papers has already begun.
“We are confident that all exams will be completed as scheduled,” he added, assuring that all marking and processing will proceed smoothly into the end of the school year.
