The Madang Provincial Hospital is scale down some services during the festive season says Madang Provincial Health Authority (PHA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Dr. Martin Daimen.
He said consultative clinics; elective surgeries and the eye clinic will close for the holiday period and reopen in February 2026.
The CEO said only the essential services will continue.
“All emergencies, TB and HIV clinics will remain open except on public holidays,” Dr. Daimen said.
He also confirmed that hospital fees will stay the same for now, with any changes expected next year after Board approval.
Madang PHA is reminding the public to stay safe during Christmas and New Year and only visit the hospital for urgent care.
