HEKARI FC SETS SIGHTS ON 2026 OFC PRO LEAGUE

The Hekari United FC has entered 2026 with a clear sense of purpose as preparations continue for the OFC Pro League, where the club will once again test its strength against the Pacific region’s top sides.

The Football Club's leadership has framed the New Year as a period of focus, discipline, and responsibility, acknowledging the demanding road ahead.

The club's General Manager, Wira Wama said the transition into the new season is about staying grounded while maintaining belief in the team’s direction.

“As we close one year and begin another, our focus is on preparation and commitment — both on and off the field,” Wama said.

He acknowledged the contributions of players, staff, sponsors, and supporters, noting that collective effort remains central to the club’s ambitions in 2026.

The PNG Football Association has echoed this message, stressing that Hekari FC’s campaign represents an important benchmark for the country’s football development.

PNGFA Chief Operational Officer Stanley Khanna said the team’s participation reflects years of effort across the local game.

“When Hekari FC steps onto the field, it reflects the work of the wider football community in Papua New Guinea,” Khanna said.

He added that while expectations remain high, the focus must stay on discipline, teamwork, and belief.

With the opening match scheduled for January 17th, PNG Hekari FC enters the OFC Pro League aware that success will be measured not only by results, but by consistency, professionalism and the ability to compete at a higher level.

As 2026 unfolds, the club’s journey is set to be one of steady resolve rather than spectacle — a campaign built on preparation, belief, and quiet confidence.
