ANSLOM THANKS PNGFM & SPONSORS AHEAD OF 20TH YFMPNGMA

International reggae artist Anslom Nakikus has expressed heartfelt gratitude to PNGFM Limited and its radio stations, sponsors, and supporters, as he prepares to return to the stage for the 20th YUMI FM PNG Musik Awards (YFMPNGMA) in Port Moresby.

Speaking ahead of the awards night at the Lamana Gold Club on May 23, Anslom reflected on the important role radio stations have played throughout his music career, crediting them for helping him grow from a local musician into an internationally recognized reggae artist.

“My deepest gratitude to the PNG FM-Yumi FM radio,” Anslom said. “Thank you for playing my music, promoting my work and standing by me as I navigate the end of this journey.”

The artist said PNGFM stations, including YUMI FM, had been instrumental in helping his music reach audiences both across Papua New Guinea and internationally.

“Your belief in me has been a cornerstone of my growth,” he said. “As an artist, you have been one of the major contributions to my progress in the music industry and I’m incredibly grateful.”

Anslom also acknowledged the support of event sponsors, especially for backing the annual music awards platform.

He described the YUMI FM PNG Musik Awards as an important platform for artists and said music continues to play a significant role in the lives of Papua New Guineans.

“The message is very important,” he said. “For artists like me to be given this recognition, it means a lot.”

The performance marks a special return for Anslom, who was among the early winners at the inaugural YUMI FM PNG Musik Awards in 2005, where he received the Best New/Rookie Artist award.

Known for hit songs including Don’t You Lie, Aross, and Bongbong, Anslom has built a long-standing career in reggae music both locally and internationally.

Speaking previously with PNG Haus Bung, the artist said the awards hold deep personal significance because of his long connection with PNGFM radio stations.

“The growth of PNGFM is the growth of Anslom,” he said.

Fans attending this year’s awards can expect performances of both classic hits and newer reggae tracks, with the artist also confirming that new music projects are currently in production.
